The Galerie du Château presents the work of Sandro Godel, a painter from Estavayer-le-Lac.
The first exhibition of the 2025 season has been entrusted to Sandro Godel, who will be presenting works in a variety of techniques: oil, ink, tempera, engraving; there will also be artists' books, the result of fruitful exchanges between various poets and the painter.
‘Is it better to be a painter or a poet? It's hard to answer. The universe to be explored and shared is the same for both. For me, painting is in the foreground, with its light and shade, its colours, its fullness and emptiness that carry me. But I'm also a poet in my own way, offering my interpretation of what lives inside and outside me,’ says Sandro of his work.
‘For the artist, painting is the balance of forces, energies and gestures through colour or monochrome.
When you look at Sandro Godel's work, you are carried away by the life, strength and dance that emanate from it, but there is also a form of serenity. Even the dark colours breathe light.
Numerous exhibitions have marked her artistic career since 1996, both in Switzerland and abroad, and she has been awarded a number of grants and residencies: Paris, Berlin, New York, Nairobi and this year Washington.
