The Eau Noire route has been completely renatured to encourage biodiversity.
Renaturation involves restoring an artificial watercourse to a state close to its natural state, thereby promoting ecological balance. Between 2012 and 2013, work was carried out to widen the watercourse, create natural banks and plant native shrubs. The aim was to recreate an environment conducive to flora and fauna, while providing a place for the public to relax. Specific measures were taken to encourage kingfishers, beavers and riparian vegetation.
